A couple of weeks ago, a friend and I attended our high school friend's wedding. My friend, "M" and the groom, "T" were each other's high school sweetheart. They were together for approximately three years before mutually deciding to part ways after high school. They remain good friends.
When asked how she felt about the day, "M" claims that she feels fine. To her, it was as if her brother was getting married. Part of me had the nagging feeling that this is not the complete story. SURELY, a small part of her does NOT feel fine. This is the first man she's ever kissed, loved, trusted, fondled (and vice versa)!
Am I the only one that thinks there's more to it? Is it possible to feel nothing for someone you once loved after you have both moved on to new partners?
